After named in Forbes’ list of highest paid athletes, India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is now named as the richest Indian sportsperson. MS Dhoni has piped Virat Kohli and batting legend Sachin Tendulkar in the latest list released by Forbes.
The estimated worth of Team India and Chennai Super Kings skipper is Rs 141.80 crore, which also includes endorsements. Dhoni is fourth behind Bollywood superstars Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan in Forbes India celebs’ list.
“Dhoni cemented his legacy as one of India’s best captains of all time when he led the Indian national team to victory in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy and became the first national captain to ever win all three ICC trophies,” the publication said in June.
Dhoni is Team India’s most successful ODI skipper with 91 wins ahead of Mohammad Azharuddin, who has 90 wins under his belt. The Ranchi-born was also ranked 22nd in world’s highest paid athletes list, earlier in October.
