Indian team for Zimbabwe and ‘A’ tours announced

India’s tour of Zimbabwe

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has rested senior players like MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and six others for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe. The team was selected keeping in mind the 2016 World T20 to be held in India.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar will spearhead the pace bowling department, featuring Mohit Sharma and two others. It will be a good opportunity for leggie Karn Sharma to take up the responsibility of the spin department.

All matches will be played in Harare, with the one-dayers scheduled for July 10, 12 and 14, and the Twenty20 games on July 17 and 19.

Indian Team: Ajinkya Rahane (c), Murali Vijay, Ambati Rayudu, Manoj Tiwary, Kedar Jadhav, Robin Uthappa, Manish Pandey, Harbhajan Singh, Axar Patel, Karn Sharma, Dhawal Kulkarni, Stuart Binny, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohit Sharma and Sandeep Sharma.

 Tri series – India, Australia & South African A teams to participate

After missing out on the Bangladesh Tour (senior side) due to illness, KL Rahul makes his comeback in the India A team. Another notable inclusion in the side is Pragyan Ojha. Ojha will look to impress the selectors to make a comeback in senior team.

The tri-series will be a 20-day affair that will commence on August 10, with the last game of the series to be held on August 28. It will be a golden opportunity for young Indian cricketers to make a mark for themselves.
