Neetu Chandra

Neetu Chandra was a National Level Athlete represented India in Taekwondo. She promotes Sports among youths. She is also an amid actress worked in National Award Movies. She is the multitalented person. She is the philanthropist.

 

School & Sports:

She did her schooling from Notre Dame Academy, Patna, where she was school’s sports Champion for 4 consecutive years. She started with winning Gold medals in 3 different games; Cycling, Athletics and Taekwondo at district level championships at Bihar State level tournaments, she has won 5 Gold Medals in Taekwondo from 1990 to 1996 and also was honoured with ‘ Bihar Sarkar Khel Samman’ in Patna 1997 – 98 for representing India at World Taekwondo Championship in Hongkong, China in 1997 at National level championship, she represented Bihar 7 times in Taekwondo where she won Gold medal twice and Silver once. She also represented Bihar in 4 different games at National level (Baseball, Softball, Netball and korfball). Further, she represented India in Taekwondo (Korean Martial Arts) while I was in school in the year 1994 at 11th Asian Taekwondo Championship which was held at Manila, Philippines and also at the World Taekwondo Championships in Hong Kong, China in 1997 where she was appreciated as one of the most promising players of Asia by Master Jackie Chan.   She also participated at XXIX Karnataka National Games, Bangalore & Mysore in 1997 and won a silver medal against Manipur. She has also represented India in Korfball (Holland s National Game) at the World Korfball Championship’ in Delhi. By the end of my school life, I became Miss School, Miss Fresher and then Miss College too. She was also awarded as the Best student of the year by Shree Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji (Former Prime Minister of India) in College.

 

College & Bollywood Film Career:

She completed her graduation at Delhi’s Indraprastha College for women. A native of East Champaran in Bihar then shifted from Delhi to Mumbai in 2006. She was blessed to get debut film with Akshay Kumar and John Abraham in Bollywood film Industry in 2006, which made her the 1st girl from Bihar to do commercial cinemas. She was also a part of 2 solo lead National Awarded films (Traffic Signal) in 2007, followed by another National awarded film (Oye lucky lucky Oye) in 2008, She has been main leads of films with Mr Amitabh Bacchan ji (Rann) 6 films with (Paresh Rawal ji ) Anil Kapoor ji, Director Anees Bazmee ji, Actor Akshay Khanna, Abhay Deol and many more A-list actors. She started a Film production house (CHAMPARAN TALKIES) with her National awarded Director brother, Nitin Chandra and started working towards the up liftman of the image of her state through films. Creating jobs in Bihar, by casting theatre artists, musicians, hospitality and making sure that my films are all shot in Bihar so that we contribute to the govt. taxes there, hence the result, her 1st produced  film ‘DESWA’ in Bhojpuri language went to 16 International film festivals n was the 1st film in 54 years to be selected at Indian Panorama IIFI GOA in 2012 with fabulous singer joining the revolution  Sonu Nigam, Sharda Sinha ji, Shreya Ghosal, Sunidhi Chauhan, Mika, Swanand Kirkire, Bharat Sharma Vyas then to Darpan Film Festival , SINGAPORE in 2014, International film festival of south Asia in TORONTO, 2014.   My next produced film Mithila Makhaan in the Maithili Language got the first ever National Award for the State of Bihar 2016, which was shot in its entirety in Bihar, getting the pride and laurels for my roots which made me the 1st producer to get the 1st National award for my state ever.

 

Theatre & More:

After she joined theatre and did her 1st commercial play, ‘UMRAO’ based on the novel written by ‘Hadi Ruswa’  She played a girl from 17 years of age to 85 years and have been live on stage for 2 hours with the music composer n singer Rekha Bharadwaaz s music. They have been performing  ‘ UMRAO’ for last 3 years now. She holds 4th Dan Black Belts and presently She is the Brand Ambassador of Taekwondo for India from last 2 years.

 

Philanthropist:

She joined hands with ‘CANCER PATIENTS AIDS ASSOCIATION’ (CPAA) an NGO, as a Brand Ambassador and have been working with them on different campaigns of awareness on issues of Drugs, Drinking, Tobacco and precautionary measures. She has been especially involved with the eradication of Breast Cancer. She was able to execute a number of fundraising shows of my play and have been standing by them for several years.
