Faf du Plessis Becomes South Africa Test Captain

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has confirmed Faf du Plessis as their new Test skipper. Du Plessis has replaced AB de Villiers, who is currently nursing an elbow injury, at the helm of the Test team.

Du Plessis recently led South Africa to series win over Australia. He is also captaining South Africa in T20s. South Africa’s series against Sri Lanka will be du Plessis first series as a full-time Test captain.

“It is no surprise that the CSA Board has confirmed Faf du Plessis as the Test captain to take over from AB,”¬†¬†Cricket South Africa chief executive, Haroon Lorgat, said.
