Gurkeerat Singh Mann makes international debut against Australia

Allrounder Gurkeerat Singh Mann made his international debut against Australia in the third ODI at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Gurkeerat, who is tipped as a next-big-thing in the Indian cricket, was a part of Team India in the South Africa tour as well, but couldn’t make his debut against the touring Proteas.

The Punjab allrounder finally got his chance against the Aussies at the historic MCG, and stamped his mark in the Indian colours with both bat and ball.

On his debut, Gurkeerat, coming lower down the order, contributed with the bat, while not leaking runs with his handy offbreaks. The 25-year-old Gurkeerat bowled five overs on debut, and against cruising Australians gave away just 27 runs.

Gurkeerat has a staggering record in the domestic cricket while playing for Punjab. He has amazed 1469 runs in 22 matches at an average of 47.38. He also has an impressive List-A record, with 1598 runs in 48 matches at an average of 42.05.
