Chennai Super Kings have roped-in Michael Hussey and all-rounder Irfan Pathan as top picks in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions held in Bangalore today.
Hussey and Pathan were release by their respective franchisees before the auction and the two-time champions signed them on their base prices of Rs 1.5 crore.
Along with Pathan and Hussey, the former champions also brought South Africa medium-pacer Kyle Abbott and Aussie Andrew Tye as foreign players.
CSK also acquired the services of Rahul Sharma, wicketkeeper Ankush Bains, Eklavya Dwivedi on their base price, along with Pratyush Singh.
Apart from signing eight players in the auctions, the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side retained 16 players from the last season squad. The IPL will kick-off from April 8.
